The Environmental Quality Act (EQA) has been amended and it includes amongst others, a heavier penalty for non-compliance both in terms of a fine and a jail term.
EQA (Scheduled Waste) Regulations 2005 states, “Every waste generator shall ensure that all his employees involved in the identification, handling, labelling, transportation, storage, and spillage or discharge response for scheduled wastes attend training programmes.”
The one day course critically reviews the Regulatory and other requirements focusing on managing scheduled waste for industries.

Course Objectives:
At the end of the course, participants will be able to:
Understand Regulation related to scheduled waste
Basic understanding on storage and handling of scheduled wastes and its records keeping
Sound understanding on the importance of records keeping such as notification of scheduled waste (Second Schedule), inventory of scheduled wastes (Fifth Schedule), consignment notes for scheduled waste (Sixth Schedule), and the purpose and use of Seventh Schedule
Understands how DOE works
Managing scheduled waste at site.
Training Methodology:
Lectures, workshops, group discussion and presentations. Use of LCD projector for presentation purpose. The program is conducted in Bahasa Malaysia and Bahasa English. Workshop/video will be included in between sessions
